Black History Month Drop-In at the John Wornall House Museum
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 02/01/2025
Black individuals were enslaved by the Wornall family at the John Wornall House. Join us on the first day of Black History Month to remember their experiences and learn about their lives. This drop-in event will feature our Black experience audio guide, artifacts related to enslavement, and open discussions about the history of enslavement in Missouri. While we explore this subject every day at the museum, Black History Month offers a special opportunity to learn something new. This event is suitable for all ages and will include conversation guides for families. Wornall/Majors is also excited to preview our upcoming research efforts regarding enslaved individuals in Jackson County.
