Head for the Cure Virtual 5K - NC Triangle

Head for the Cure hosted its first 5K event in 2003 in Kansas City. In honor and memory of Chris Anthony, his family started this grassroots movement that has now transformed into a nationwide effort to defeat brain cancer step by step. Head for the Cure's marquee 5K events serve as a beacon of hope and strength against brain cancer. Head for the Cure is committed to bringing these events to our community this year no matter what, to support clinical research and patient programs.
The funds raised through registrations, donations and sponsorships from our NC Triangle event will support brain tumor research and advocacy programs through the UNC Brain Tumor Program. In addition, the event will also support our national beneficiary, the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative (BTTC).
Join us for our NC Triangle Virtual 5K as we work to defeat brain cancer step by step.
How does a virtual 5K work? Well I'm glad you asked!
1. Register as a team member or individual here.
2. Between now and Saturday September 11th complete a 5K anyway you like! This is where you can really get creative. You can complete the course as planned at Southern Village Green, walk 5K up and down stairs, create a fun relay activity, explore your city, or any other way you can think of!
3. Submit any photos of your team or your walk/run here.
4. *Optional* if you would like to be considered for the best time in your category (age and gender) you can submit your race time here.
5. You will receive a medal and a VERY soft shirt in the mail after the event, and if you are a top finisher in your category you will also receive a plaque.
6. Encourage your friends, family, coworkers, or even barista to participate or donate!
